The first release of Julia Roberts’ “Pretty Woman” had been thirty-three years ago in March 2023.
The actress’ makeup artist took a photo of her during an outing that year, and the photo was posted on social media. The image displayed the celebrity’s current appearance as well as how she had changed over time.
Social media users, however, had contrasting views on Robert’s appearance, with some complimenting her and others disparaging her.
Alongside starring actor Richard Gere, the celebrity’s part helped her win many other roles in subsequent movies. Here’s a preview of what Roberts and Gere did following their roles in “Pretty Woman.”
Julia 33 Years after “Pretty Woman”
The popularity of “Pretty Woman” in 1990 helped Roberts and Gere’s careers flourish. The actress was viewed as the newest celebrity in the profession, while the latter was regarded as a leading man.
The two actors rose to the status of Hollywood’s most desired, and ten years later, in 1999, they worked together once more on “Runaway Bride.” Later, Roberts appeared in additional popular films like “Eat Pray Love” from 2010 and the “Ocean” series as well as 2013’s “August: Osage County.”
The actress, who was then 55, wed Lyle Lovett in 1993, but the couple later divorced after two years of marriage due to their separation. The celebrity first spoke with cinematographer Danny Moder in 2000.
After a brief courtship, they got married two years later and welcomed twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, who were then 18 years old, and a son named Henry, who was then 15. Contrarily, Gere has had three marriages, his first being to Cindy Crawford.
From 1991 through 1995, the actor and the supermodel were married. He wed Carey Lowell in 2002, and the two of them welcomed a son, Homer, before divorcing in 2016. Two years later, Gere wed Alejandra Silva, who would become his third wife.
In 2020, he and the Spanish publicist welcomed Alexander and a subsequent son. Roberts was getting attention for her attractiveness and was featured in advertisements even though she was approaching near to 60.
Julia’s Beautiful Aging Causes Mixed Reactions
Chopard, a firm Roberts has previously worked for, unveiled her as the face of its newest advertising campaign on March 23, 2023. The actress was hired by the business to model as well as serve as its “global ambassador.”
The Comic Relief supporter, who has been with Lancôme since 2009, was still their face.
She appeared in a white shirt in the most recent commercial for the brand from the Oscar winners.
It was disclosed that she made almost $50 million the year she began working for Lancôme, and in fact, she would make even more in 2023.
The actress would promote women’s fine jewelry, watches, and luxury jewelry collections as Chopard’s global ambassador.
In the social media video she posted, a beaming Roberts said she was “on set.”
As she wore diamond-studded heart-shaped earrings, the celebrity appeared younger than her actual age.
On March 16, 2023, Roberts was seen posing for a Chopard commercial photo in a black-and-white Instagram image posted by makeup artist Genevieve Herr.
The photograph generated a lot of discussion on social media, with one user writing: “She lost her looks years ago.”
The picture shocked someone else, who said, “OMG, that’s a harsh photo, not a good look.” However, another person thought the opposite, feeling the actress had “aged beautifully,” while someone else wrote:
“Thankfully, she didn’t mess with her face and looks like her beautiful self.”
A fifth fan thought the star was an “excellent actress,” but her “life bio story is tough.” The follower felt Roberts had “broken up too many marriages” before noting how Danny had been married when they met.
[Nancy] Motes said she’d suffered from depression throughout her life, but it had never gotten as bad as when she died by suicide.
Someone else wondered if the star’s “teeth, mouth, and chin grow again??,” while another wanted to know what the actress had done to her nose. A fan replied to the previous poster noting how the change in Robert’s nose was “part of aging.”
An Instagram user thought the picture didn’t accurately depict the celebrity’s appearance at the time. The actress was advised by a fan not to “use filters,” as it was “not what she looks like now.”
The original billboard argued that growing older was not the cause of larger noses. Another critic deemed the celebrity’s mouth and teeth “too big,” as well as her nose “long” and ears “big,” before labeling her “immoral,” with another critic adding:
“It’s a beautiful face behind an ugly personality; just read what she has done to her sister.”
The fan was making reference to the celebrity’s loss of her half-sister. Roberts’ half-sister seems to blame the actress for her melancholy and for pushing her over the brink in her suicide note from 2014.
A User’s Disappointment with Julia Due to the Tragic Story of Her Half-Sister
Nancy Motes, Julia Roberts’ half-sister, allegedly confessed in a suicide note that the actress was so nasty that it “drove me into the deepest depression I’ve ever been in.” Motes referred to her sister in her handwritten statement as a “so-called sibling.”
The star’s sibling believed that if she failed, she deserved nothing more than to know that she had forced her to that result. According to Motes, Roberts’ torture of her was so severe that “I burst into tears because I wake up.”
On February 9, 2014, at the age of 37, the actress’ half-sister overdosed on drugs and died. Her fiancé, John Dilbeck, then fought for possession of her estate. At the location of Motes’ death, a suicide note was discovered.
Roberts’ sibling also stated that Dilbeck would be able to take Lucy, their dog, and any other property she owned if anything happened to her. Her mother, Betty Lou Bredemus, and her “siblings” were to blame for causing her to fall into the deepest depression she had ever known.
Motes claimed that although she had experienced depression all of her life, it had never been as severe as it was at the time of her suicide. The note was included in court documents pertaining to her inheritance, and it was divided into three sections: one for Dilbeck, one for Bredemus and Roberts, and one for “everyone.”
