The Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen Doherty has once more described “what cancer can look like.”
Shannen has updated her fans on her painful cancer battle one week after sharing a video on Instagram with an emotional text stating her breast cancer has spread to her brain.
Doherty is seen in the most recent video, which was posted Wednesday afternoon, lying on a hospital bed and dressed for surgery. The caption states that the video was shot on January 16, 2023.
“January 16, 2023. Surgery. I had a tumor in my head they wanted to remove and also biopsy,” she wrote on Instagram.
Off-camera, the 52-year-old talks with a woman who seems to be inspecting her limbs and discussing what to expect following surgery.
Doherty appears to be calm as she converses with the woman and queries her, but the actress claimed that she was everything but.
“I am clearly trying to be brave but I am petrified,” Doherty wrote. “The fear was overwhelming to me. Scared of all possible bad outcomes, worried about leaving my mom and how that would impact her. Worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore.”
Doherty received her initial breast cancer diagnosis in 2015, and in 2017 she declared the disease to be in remission.
However, she disclosed in February 2020 that the disease had reappeared and had reached stage 4. Since receiving her cancer diagnosis, she has frequently updated her followers on how her treatment is going.
The most intimate updates to date have been the most recent.
