It’s been a year since the tragic event on the Drummond family’s Oklahoma cattle ranch that seriously injured Ree Drummond’s husband, Ladd. Today, the television chef provided an update on her longtime love’s recovery, which was highly requested.
“After a year, we can report that Ladd is doing incredibly well. When one considers the horrible occurrence that happened in March of 2021, this is quite astounding. He’s working out with weights.”
“He is caring for the livestock and carrying out the same ranch responsibilities that he has in the past.”
Ree wrote about it in a blog post. “It’s true that his neck is still stiff, and it will most likely be for the rest of his life. He can’t move his head to look at me when I call him. “Oh, Honey?” he says.
“In light of what happened, I’d like to express my appreciation on this day that Ladd is, for the most part, back to normal… and just in time for the start of the spring burning season.”
Fans of “Pioneer Woman” may recall that Ladd sustained a fractured neck in March 2021 due to a head-on incident in a car he was driving with his nephew Caleb. The two were hurrying to put out a fire that had started in the property’s vicinity
He had to wear a neck brace for a few months because the second fracture needed time to heal, going to his daughter Alex’s wedding in May. While one of the fractures was surgically cured, the other fracture required time to heal.
“The surgeon told us that the fracture in his neck was very near to destroying his spinal cord,” Ree stated in her letter.
We’re glad to hear you’re feeling better, Ladd; nonetheless, we urge that you please be cautious while you’re out in public.
